BANGKOK — In a game that swung on a single quarter, the storyline writes itself: a star guard catching fire, a defence with no answers, and a building that knew it before the box score did.

The numbers will sit in the database tomorrow, but the moments were already there: the pull-up at the elbow that drew the third foul, the cross-court skip pass that broke the zone, the timeout that came too late.

What it means

It is a long season and a short bench. The teams that survive March do so because they had answers for these exact possessions in November. Tonight, one of them did.
